I appreciated that this historic hotel retained its historically romantic ambience with substantial furniture and beautiful architecture & interior accents. I felt at peace in that. The bedding also seemed very clean & plush.

The place was crawling with bugs. Within minutes of entering my room, something bit my leg, & I must have killed at least a dozen flying insects in there. They were even hanging out on the wall just outside my room, & I couldn't figure how they'd have gotten in since it wasn't outside access & (I believe) all windows were sealed. When checking in on Monday night, I asked the young lady if there was anywhere to go that night for food & drink since a storm that never happened had led them to close their restaurant & lounge for the day - unannounced to their expecting guests :( She shook her head "no", so I was fortunate to have had snacks from the drive on hand for my dinner. That sucked. She handed me my key without mention of the fact that they have no elevators to haul my two closet-sized suitcases up to my 2nd-floor room, so I asked her about it when I realized my daunting task ahead upon sight of the grand & winding staircase. She brushed me off & quietly watched past her cellphone with a smirk as I yanked & dragged my stuff from one step to the next, leaving serious bruises. I coulda used some help. The next morning, I went to breakfast with my voucher & was given the menu, which was more like five lines reading "choose from cereal or toast; eggs scrambled or over-easy; bacon or sausage; coffee or tea; hashbrowns or home fries". I don't eat meat, so I got a kid-sized box of Rice Crispies with a cup of sour milk, one scrambled egg, & a handful of home fries. I had to ask for ketchup & remind the waitress for the toast. Would have been nice to have a pancake or a waffle maker, but then I guess they couldn't dictate their guests portions. (BTW I'm Size 2, & this was a bleak breakfast, even for me.) I also remember the bathtub being full of peeling paint. Ick. Point being, this hotel make an excellend candidate for Chef Ramsey's Hotel Hell. Has potential, being lovely to look at, but it needs a staff renovation & exterminator more than anything...

    The building was lovely.

The interior needs some renovation and the evening meal was not very good. Breakfast was fine though. I would recommend the inn but would suggest that travelers ate somewhere else for dinner.

Nice location for those using the waterway between Stuart and Fort Myers.

You formerly welcomed boaters by picking them up at the local marina. We miss that. Also the restaurant has become a disappointment.

The Inn was lovely. The mural on the wall in the bar was out of sight. Sharon at the front desk was beautiful and extraordinarily courteous in all ways. I liked the frig in the room and the bathtub.

The restaurants in the hotel while listed open til 9 actually stopped serving around 8:30 so we needed to go out to get food. The toilet paper on the holder was not clean.

I thought the room was cramped and over crowded with furniture. The layout was terrible as well. The breakfast menu was extremely limited. I couldn't believe that you could have either coffee or orange juice. The fact that we had reserved two rooms and we then given one room and one suite and had to choose which of us would get the suite. It seems to me that either two rooms or two suites should have been offered.

The hotel is old and elegant, with an inviting dining room and tavern decor. The room was clean and comfortable.

The staff was inadequate/non-existent. The hotel was overpriced.

Historic location, clean, good food, classic old dining room

A bit pricey for what we got, no elevator

I've stayed there many times over the past 30 years and attended many meetings there. It has been consistently good and the food is excellent.

The rooms are a little small and primitive, but the beds are excellent.

The staff were very attentive if ineffective. The food was good.

The handles were incorrectly installed in the tub so you had to turn the cold faucet outward to turn it on. It took several minutes for the hot water to arrive. The menu shown on their web site is only for "in season" so the menu is limited. Handicap assistance is only to the first floor; there is no elevator to the second floor. The remote control for the tv did not function. The replacement which was provided had limited function. The toilet had some malfunction so it refilled the bowl every hour or so. The bar tender had no clue about how to construct a martini or even what glass to serve it in. The place looks quaint from the dining room but on inspection of the rest of the place it is a shabby, poorly maintained example of a fine hotel in the late '30'S. It is highly over priced.

Very quaint and comfortable. Reminded me of staying in an old-fashioned B&B.

The waitresses were doing their best, but very rushed between the dining room and the bar. The dining room only had 6 tables filled while I was dining- but still very rushed. The food quality is not very good. The lettuce on the salad bar was old and brown- had not been refreshed, and very few salad items to choose from. Unfortunately not many restaurants in Clewiston- the dining room was the biggest disappointment. The accomodations were quite lovely, however. And I would stay here again.

    Could have been much better!!!

Service, food and lack of professional interaction. Was expecting more for the money.

Comfortable accomodations that included a modest breakfast.

We had two rooms booked for four people. We noticed an unpleasant and strong odor similar to turpentine when we arrived in lobby. We were told bathrooms were being serviced on lower floor. We asked if we were going to have this odor in our rooms. The desk personel stated they would give us a room on the 2nd floor. The odor in our room was no better. We went down and requested new rooms. We were given two new rooms in a different side of the building and while our rooms no longer had the unpleasant odor the hallways still did. After checking out I noticed I did not have my $250 Rudy Project biking sunglasses that I had on when I arrived. I had returned them to their carrying case and believe in the commotion of changing rooms that I left them behind on a desk in the initial room. Of course the hotel stated they weren't there. I've left both costume jewelry and an ipod behind in other hotels and had both returned to me. Unfortunately I was in Clewiston and not in Phoenix in a Hilton...

We were very disappointed in the Inn. The rooms were small and we didn't like the idea of the sink outside the bathroom. Also, we were told we would have a four poster bed and a flat screen tv. We had neither . However, our room rate was lowered. The dining room was lovely but the food and service was not. We didn't go to a historial inn to be served morning coffee in plastic cups.
